Spring and Summer Brown Bear Hunts

Our spring brown bear hunts take place during the month of April when bears are just emerging from their winter dens. For this hunt we will base out of my private cabin amongst the foothills of the Alaska Range.  Each day we will ride snowmobiles through some of the most breath taking country Alaska has to offer in search of prime spring bears.  Every evening I will load a spike camp in the plane and go scouting for bears.  Once the right bear is located I will decide to either set up a spike camp in the nearest most suitable landing spot, or choose to return the next day with snowmobiles from the cabin.  We can not hunt the same day that we fly, so if the area cannot be reached with snowmobiles we will be required to stay in a spike camp and hunt off snowshoes the following day.  For the hunt you will fly into Anchorage Alaska where I will pick you up at the airport or hotel depending on what time your flight arrives.   We will then drive to my home on an airstrip in Wasilla Alaska.  I will sell you a hunting license and bear tag and do necessary paperwork for the hunt.  We will also go through your equipment and repack (leave hard gun case and suitcases at my home) for the super cub flight to my cabin.  At the cabin we will shoot your rifle and load up a spike camp and head out in search of a big bear.  These hunts are 8 days of actual hunting but will typically be 10-12 in duration with travel days on each end. FOR EXAMPLE: If your hunt dates are April 5-12, please fly into Anchorage on April 3rd or morning of the 4th.  I recommend an open ended ticket for your return flight, or a departure of 2 days after the scheduled hunt.  This hunt has produced some very large bears for us in the past including a few large enough to make awards for B&C.  24 out of the last 25 hunters have harvested a brown bear on this hunt!  The average bear for this hunt is around 8.5-9 feet with a 25″ Skull.   Not included in the price of the hunt are: hunting license, brown bear tag, airfare to and from Anchorage, hotel before and after hunt if necessary, shipping of trophy home, and gratuity.

Our summer brown bear hunts are a spot and stalk hunt that take place during the months of June and July.  For this hunt we hunt several salmon streams and rivers and a series of tidal flats where many bears spend the summer months.  You can expect to see bears daily on these hunts and we have killed some great bears on this hunt including one monster with an Official B&C score of 28 3/16”.  You can not hunt the same day we fly for either of these hunts, so please arrive 1-2 days before your scheduled hunt.  You will need chest waders for this hunt and I recommend Simms waders and an over sized hiking boot for your wading boot in addition to the baited bear gear list.  It is 24 hours of daylight this time of year and much of the hunting takes place at night.  Not included in the price of hunt is airfare to and from Anchorage Alaska, hotels before and after the hunt, license and tags, shipping of trophy home, and gratuity.

All bush flights are included in the price of hunt!  Price for either hunt through 2019 is $14,000.
